First of all, Happy Easter from Norah:
She took her egg-hunting very seriously.
On to a topic very dear to my heart...I noticed the other morning that my Pantene shampoo now sports the words: "New! With Amino Proteins!" on the bottle. As far as I'm aware, proteins are made up of amino acids, but the phrase "Amino Proteins" is complete garbage. Just made-up marketing-speak. And how is it that Pantene can sell an extra-special weekly-moisturizing conditioner made up of the exact same ingredients as their regular conditioner? All they did was make the mixture thicker by adding less water, and then packaged it in a special-looking tube. And why can Excedrin get away with selling Excedrin Migraine in addition to their regular product, when they both contain the exact same amounts of aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine? And were you aware that Unisom is marketed as a sleep aid while Benadryl is marketed as an antihistamine but they're both Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride?
I dunno, the whole thing just irks me. The popularization of false scientific terms to sell a product, and the fact that it works. I'm on my second beer already this evening, drowning my guilt at my years spent in the marketing industry...hee hee.
